The new Taylormade TP5x Golf Balls have been designed to achieve faster ball speeds, without negatively affecting spin and feel. Taylormade have done this through their proprietary 5-layer ball construction.
This 5-layer ball construction includes a Tri-Fast Core that delivers maximum carry with low drag to produce a strong and piercing ball flight. This is combined with a Dual-Spin cover that features an ultra-soft urethane cover to help provide extra spin in and around the green. The new Taylormade TP5x golf ball offers complete tee-to-green performance.
The 2019 TP5x golf ball also features a new Speed-Layer system is comprised of four increasingly stiff layers to produce faster ball speeds. The result of this new speed-layer system results in more carry of the tee, added control in the wind and more spin around the greens.
Finally, the new TP5 golf balls are created with a new material called HFM which produces faster ball speeds through a greater rebound effect. HFM acts like a spring that builds and stores energy and then explodes quickly, producing more ball speeds.
