PXG 0211 Irons
PXG have made quite a splash in the golf world in the relatively short time since their formation in 2014, their products have been universally well received, offering performance that matches or exceeds anything else on the market.
The PXG 2011 irons are the lowest priced set of clubs that PXG make and it is their attempt to make their brand more affordable to more people with a current cost that is less than half of the last 0311 series irons.
Whilst the PXG 0211 irons maybe less expensive this is not reflected by any drop in performance and these irons are extremely powerful and look and feel great. They are a progressive set of clubs which sees the head shape change quite substantially as you move from the long irons to the short irons. In the long irons, where help is needed the most, the 0211 irons have a large head with a fair amount of offset to optimise launch and offer more help on off centre strikes. As you move down through to the short irons the heads become smaller and have less offset, perfect for the control required with the scoring clubs.
The PXG 2011 irons look quite a bit different than the 0311 irons at the back of the head, with PXG’s trademark weight screws completely absent. It is a clean and classy look, and they will look great in any golfer’s bag. At impact the PXG 2011 irons offer an extremely solid feel, and you get the sensation that ball is springing off the face and is going to travel a long way. That is certainly backed up by these club’s performance and they are regarded as one of the longest hitting irons on the market.
They are a hugely forgiving iron on off centre hits and there is very little performance drop off even when the centre of the club has been missed by some distance. One of the biggest positives the mid to high handicapper will find with these amazing clubs is the ease at which the longer irons can be hit. Often mid to high handicappers will find that their 4-iron doesn’t fly much further than the 5-iron due to it being more difficult to hit. That is not the case here and golfers will be delighted with the gapping they will find at the higher end of the set.
PXG consistently produce superb golf clubs and the PXG 0211 irons continue this tradition, but at a much lower cost than has been previous on offer from PXG. If you are in the market for a superb set of game-improvement clubs that both look and perform great, then the PXG 0211 irons would a phenomenal choice.
